The August Update

Greetings everyone -

We hope your summer has been going splendidly.

Ours sure has thanks to you and everyone who has bought a ticket to a show, bought a CD or vinyl, streamed or downloaded the record and given us their ears or eyes over the past few months.

We’re happy and proud to have Step Into Light out into the world.

Next month we hit the road again…back to the west coast. If you live in Berkeley, West Hollywood, Pasadena or Agoura Hills we expect to see you out at an upcoming show! And if you’ve been itching to take a trip with an ol’ pal to the west coast, you can thank us for giving you the perfect opportunity for a September road trip.

At the end of September, we’re back on the east coast playing THREE nights at the Big E, a massive fair in Springfield, MA….before returning to NYC to play City Winery with our pal Wesley Stace aka John Wesley Harding. Come on out NYC….it will be a great night. We then hit Annapolis, Leesburg, Pittsburgh, Kent, Chicago and finally St. Louis, where we play a free outdoor show in the afternoon.

And after that we may be playing a hometown show in Austin…stay tuned for more details on that.

Tickets and Meet N Greets for all shows can be found and purchased here:

In other news…..we’re not sure if you caught that we live streamed our recent show at the wonderful Daryl’s House in Upstate NYC a couple of weeks ago….because we actually didn’t know until we arrived (!), but here’s a link to see it (just search for us):

And here’s a couple of recent interviews you can check out and spread the word about:

I think that’s all for now. As always, follow us, re-tweet us, like us, and do whatever the hell else you’re suppose to do to us.

'Behind the Sun' Video Premiere

Hi Everyone -

Today we are debuting the third and final video that the great Nigel Dick directed for us, for 'Behind the Sun' from 'Step Into Light'.

The fine folks at Guitar World premiered it this morning on their website so please go check it out:

Here's what Miles had to say about the song and the video:

I wrote this one in open G tuning doing a Beatles White Album fingerpicking pattern. John Lennon learned it from Donavon in India. I learned it from an article in Guitar World one afternoon in Virginia Beach.

I recorded it one night at the Bubble, just Sean Rolie and I. I used an E-bow for that droney  stuff, Tony added a harmony later

Nigel Dick shot the video. We were out in Lockhart TX and it was hotter than hell. I started to moan after we shot 20 takes of the same thing and he said "You'd never make it in the film business, boy." He worked his ass off, 3 videos in 3 days. Whatta guy!

The video also won a Silver Remi Award at the Houston WorldFest International Film Festival earlier this year.

On another note, here is a link to a photo gallery from the June 7th House of Blues Boston show (photos by Eric Riley):

We hit the road again on July 20th in Atlanta - come on out and see us:

Here Comes the Loooong Weekend!

A Couple Quick Things

Hi Everyone -

Just a couple quick things to note.

1 – This Pledge campaign is officially closed…..meaning you can no longer purchase any items/incentives. The last batch of signed CD’s are being shipped out and if you ordered anything else that you haven’t received, you’ll be in touch with shortly or feel free to email Please note that we will still be sending out updates and keeping you in the loop with all things Fastball for the next little while but we will eventually shuffle everything over to our official website

2 – On the note of shuffling things over, the only place to now buy official Fastball merchandise is our online store – – we are currently having a flash sale of old t-shirts, for a limited time all the old t-shirts are only $10. Buy them NOW before they run out cause they will run out soon….we don’t have many left of each.

I think that’s all for now. Till the next update.

'Bunny Radio - Influences': Spotify playlist

Hi Everyone -

Miles and Tony put together a special playlist for Spotify that is essentially a 12 song compilation of their influences over the years, that have shaped their own songwriting and the songs on 'Step Into Light'.

The songs have intro's from both Tony and Miles explaining what the songs mean to them, etc.

We encourage you to check it out if you are a Spotify user or to tell your friends that use Spotify to check it out - it's very cool and ranges from the Beatles to Cheap Trick to Willie Nelson to NRBQ with little stories and tales in between.

Here’s the link:

We hope we see you out on the road. Thanks to everyone who bought a Meet N Greet – we’ve been able to have you see the band soundcheck so they have been working out better than expected.

This week sees us venturing into Canada (Calgary, Saskatoon & Regina) before circling back down to South Dakota and Colorado….hope you can make it out to see us play new songs from ‘Step Into Light’ as well as other favourites from all of our records.

Thought you might like to see them.

Big week ahead – the official release date for ‘Step Into Light’ is May 19th! This Friday!

Hey Everyone

As I type this Miles and Tony are at the Austin airport….their flight has been delayed so they are cramming more phone interviews in than expected. Hardest working men in show biz, folks.

They are flying to NYC and will be doing promo for the next two days, including an appearance on the Howard Stern Wrap Up Show this Friday around 11am EST….on SiriusXM Channel 100... so tune in for that, it should be a good one. They may even play a cover song that you should all know (shame on you if you don’t).

And they will also be visiting Paste Magazine, which from what we are told will be streamed live (more on that later), WBJB in New Jersey and if you haven’t heard already the guys will be doing an in-store performance and signing at the wonderful Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ ( TOMORROW at 7pm. Some come on out Jersey!

Then they return home to basically get on the bus and get out to tour North America, of which you should all be BUYING YOUR TICKETS! Or you can try and win tickets (and a turntable) right here, from the fine folks at Tunespeak who we just launched a contest with:

Step Into Light :: May 19th

Bye for now.

And awaaaaay we go!

Alright everyone – we are pleased to finally get some new music out to you, in the form of this wonderful video for the song ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ premiering right now on Consequence of Sound – check it out!

And just cause we thought you’d like em, here are the lyrics to the song:

It may sound funny
I don’t have a lot of money
but I will never let you down
when everything is breaking
the enemy is taking the town

I’ll be Fightin those demons
they’ll be kicking and screaming
I will throw them to the ground
I’m here to protect you to love and respect you
and I will never let you down

I hope you won’t hate me
don’t underestimate me
I’ll always do the best I can
my mind’s a bit hazy I might just drive you crazy
Remember I am only a man
I’m not too pretty
once you reach the nitty-gritty
I’m not the nicest guy in town
I might forget what I say
but at the end of the day
I will never let you down

And a little blurb about it:

The video for “I Will Never Let You Down” was directed by legendary music video director, Nigel Dick (Guns And Roses, Oasis). It was shot in one day at Strange Brew Coffee in Austin, TX. It features Tony’s lovely wife, Jennifer, playing the organizer of a speed-dating event in which Tony initially strikes out.

Enjoy and please spread the word wide and far!

The Tennessee Waltz

The last time we came anywhere near Tennessee was on my birthday back in 2013. I had decided to go on the wagon (on my birthday, good thinking). I traveled separately from the band. When I arrived they were drinking local IPA and I was clomping around the backstage area in silver tap shoes. They were shiny,  and they offered the opportunity to possibly learn a new skill.
They were also incredibly uncomfortable and I left them in the hotel room.

At the very end of the show, the last chord rang out and I put my Les Paul on the stand. A minute later I heard a sickening crash. My Gold Top fell off the stand and I nearly fell off the wagon. The headstock broke completely off. Luckily we were close to Nashville, home to some of the finest luthiers in the world. I left my guitar there for a week, and played a Gibson SG the next few days.

Our mini tour ended in Nashville. We have many friends there and always have a good time. I lived there from 2000 to 2002 so in a strange way it's like coming home. We're playing 3rd & Lindsley this Wednesday at 9pm. You can get your tickets here.
